Week 7: What a crazy week!!

11/11/14
So I have walked a lot and taken a lot of the time out of my Pday today to write home, so you better appreciate this!! I am really happy to write home, but I have only like 20 mins left because the internet broke in the last place we were in and so I lost everything I wrote (It saves on gmail normally but not this time)!  Well I guess it will just give me more to write for next week. So I guess I will just take care of the basics today and tell you all the crazy details next week.
So first off HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEIDI!!!!!  Ahh I can’t believe it is already Nov. and your birthday! I hope it was great and I hope you all had a great holiday today!!!  Must have been a pretty good one since I did not get any emails, from my direct family this week, except Carson. (Thanks Carson, I understood most of it!  Let me remind you that I am not a fluent Spanish speaker yet!)  Don’t worry though I am not bitter.  Haha really though I love to hear from you all but I totally understand I have been in your position.
Well let me just say the most important stuff.
1. I am 2 hrs ahead of EST time.  And then when daylight savings changes again in your spring, I will be the exact same time as EST! Yep awesome right!!
2. I have not gotten my package yet mom just so you know!  I am not sure when it was supposed to get here, but I have heard that FEdEx often times has a lot of problems in Chile.  So I guess we will see!
3. I am super lucky and I get 1 1/2 hrs to write home each week!!! It is going to be great!!!! Lucky me!
4. MY companion is Hemana Taylor and is from SLC, East High School.  Yep that is the High School Musical School.  She is super hilarious and has been out on her mission for 8 months.  We are pretty different, but we work great together!!  My favorite quote by her is "Take that Satan".  She always says that when something great happens or a miracle happens.  Literally I have seen so many miracles already.
5 One of these miracles being that I can understand the Chileans for the most part!!  Chileans speak super fast and have a somewhat different dialect and cut off a lot of consonants on the end of their words.  So it is a miracle that I even understand some Spanish for the little amount of time I have been learning it but to be able to understand the Chileans is even more of a blessing of God. Hermana Taylor said that even some Latina Hermanas  come to Chile and can’t understand for their first few weeks and they have been speaking Spanish there whole life.  I don’t totally believe that but whatever.  Also I am not saying that I am amazing and understand everything. Not even close, but I understand the gist and that I can be grateful for.

I have so much more to say and have not even told a tenth of what I wanted to say and how my traveling went, and my first day and what Chile is like and what the mission is like and what my sector and investigators and members are like or even all the spiritual things I am learning. But little by little I will be able to get it all to you over the upcoming weeks.  Love you all and thanks for all your prayers, I know that it is not because of just me that I am being blessed but it is because of all of you!!

Love your favorite Hermana in Chile,
Hermana Corbett
p.s. One last spiritual thought.  Count your Many Many Blessings!!! I have learned a lot about blessings this week and have found that every blessing that you receive comes directly from following a commandment of God.  So when you want something in your life, find the commandment that goes along with that blessing and follow it with exactness and you will see the blessings.  Look for all your blessings and you will be even more inspired to keep the commandments. Hopefully that all made sense!! Love you all again!! Hugs and Kisses!
